July 17th

We woke up this morning to rain when Mr. Cat woke us up at 5am. He was out of food but really just wanted to get up on our bed. Another set of "cat steps" would be nice so he doesn't have to get us to put him up...but there's only so much walk around room in the boat...and those steps in the salon will be moving to our room in preparation for the kids. Kitty really doesn't appreciate the little girls even tho they would love to play with him.

It was 68'when Rod got up & only got down to 61 last night - it never really cooled off from yesterday. It rained most of the day so there wasn't anything tugging us away from cleaning the boat & finding new places for things. Our room is now officially "Mr. Cat's & ours." We decided to make that happen a day early so he can get adjusted to having everything in 1 place.

There is a woman, Barbara, who comes to our dock with baked goods every day. She's an amazing baker & some times has veggies from her garden. Yesterday I ordered a dozen cookies (2 kinds), 4 brownies & a raspberry pie with pecans to be delivered today for the family. The raspberries came from her garden. We aren't sure if we will leave as soon as Heather arrives or spend the night here tomorrow so wanted to make we have some sweets. I'm sure our friends on the raft will help us eat them.

  1. You're killing us with the delicious dinner/seafood/baked good details!! Thanks much for keeping all of us dock-bound folks informed as to your fun and delicious doings. Wishing you continued good cruising and great times with Heather and family. Enjoy all that on-the-water time extra for us :) V & G
